THE REGENCY OF PALM BEACH
2760 South Ocean Boulevard
HISTORY OF THE REGENCY
The Regency was built in 1969 and was designed by noted Palm Beach architect Gene Lawrence. Lawrence designed numerous Palm Beach icons such as the residential buildings at Sloan’s Curve, the Sun and Surf, L’Ermitage of Palm Beach, The Reef, Il Lugano, and the Bellaria. Lawrence also designed many prominent commercial buildings, including 150 Worth Avenue (formerly The Esplanade, now home to Saks Fifth Avenue), Neiman Marcus, Salvatore Ferragamo, Cartier, Trillion, Cafe L’Europe and the Palm Beach Park Centre office building at 440 Royal Palm Way. Lawrence, who died in 2013, has been recognized as one of the most important designers in the Town of Palm Beach's history. Lawrence also designed the renovation of Mar-a-Lago for Donald Trump.
